How is our soap made?
Our soap bars are made in small batches, by hand here in Brisbane. We use a technique called cold process soaping. This is the result of a delicate chemical reaction that occurs between oils, butters and lye. The soap heats naturally to neutralise the lye so none remains in the final bar. The soap then needs to cure for about 6 weeks. This process, although longer, is more gentle and preserves the natural properties of the ingredients and essential oils.
Will using a soap bar spread germs?
Using a soap bar is clean and hygienic and when used properly does not store any germs. A good handwash involves you using warm water with a minimum of a 30 second scrub all over your hands. When you rinse away the soap, the dirt and grime will also wash away. If you are unsure how long, just sing ‘Happy Birthday’! #nursestricks
How should I look after my soap?
Your soap will store better and last longer if it is allowed to dry out thoroughly between uses. We recommend using a soap dish with enough space to circulate the bar and in the shower a wire rack away from the water.
Which bar of soap should I choose?
It can be overwhelming and some of our soap bars do serve a different purpose. Head over to our Soap Cheat Sheet to see a summary of our soap bars and decide which is right for you. Click here to see the guide.
